Responsibilities:
- Support the research and analysis of digital transformation trends, best practices, and technologies relevant to the UN's mandate in Ecuador.
- Assist in the assessment of current digital capabilities and identify opportunities for digital innovation and improvement across different UN agencies and programs.
- Contribute to the development of digital transformation strategies and roadmaps aligned with national priorities and UN frameworks.
- Support the identification, design, and piloting of digital solutions to address specific development challenges (e.g., mobile applications, online platforms, data analytics dashboards).
- Assist in the implementation and scaling of successful digital initiatives, including user training and support.
- Contribute to the development of data governance frameworks and promote the responsible and ethical use of data.
- Support the exploration and application of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT) for development purposes.
- Assist in the development of partnerships with technology providers, startups, and other relevant stakeholders in the digital ecosystem.
- Support the monitoring and evaluation of digital transformation projects, including the collection and analysis of data on their impact and sustainability.
- Provide technical support and capacity building to UN staff and partners on digital tools and approaches.
- Perform other tasks related to digital transformation as required by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Innovation, Business Administration with a focus on technology, or a related field.
- Understanding of digital transformation concepts, methodologies, and technologies.
- Desirable experience (including volunteering or internships) in digital projects, software development, data analysis, or related fields.
- Familiarity with the digital landscape in Ecuador is an advantage.
- Skills in research, analysis, problem-solving, and project management.
- Ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in computer tools and various digital platforms.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in Spanish (oral and written). Knowledge of English is an asset.
