About The Role
The Laudato Si’ Movement is welcoming a volunteer to assist the Special Projects Team in enhancing the digital experiences across our platform. Our website is our home for the world to learn about and act upon Pope Francis' encyclical, "Laudato Si': On Care for Our Common Home." This role is pivotal in ensuring our website is user-friendly, efficient, and bug-free, aligning with our commitment to providing digital experiences free of technical frustration and instead instill hospitality across our screens for web users around the world.
Responsibilities
Environment: Remote. It will be based at home.
As a volunteer, you will gain hands-on experience in web testing, contribute to a meaningful global project, and develop professional skills in a supportive environment. This position is voluntary and without financial compensation, yet LSM is committed to providing you with the necessary support to learn and excel in your designated responsibilities. A certificate of participation will be provided, and the position is ideal for individuals interested in technology, web development, or software quality assurance looking for a flexible volunteering opportunity.

Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough manual testing of web applications to identify bugs, defects, and usability issues.
- Collaborate closely with the communications manager to communicate findings and suggest improvements.
- Create detailed, clear, and concise reports, including test cases, test plans, and bug reports.
- Ensure compatibility across different browsers and devices, and assist with performance and security testing.
- English or Spanish speaking
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering quality digital experiences.
- Strong observational skills, creativity, and intuition in identifying potential issues.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills for effective reporting and collaboration.
- Comfortable working with Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Documents.
- Experience or interest in web testing methodologies and techniques is a plus but not required.
